Colloidal silver is a solution that contains tiny silver particles in a liquid form that care used in a variety of different ways. It can be taken orally as a dietary supplement, applied to the skin, or maybe injected in veins. It is also an antibacterial agent that is commonly used as a wound dressing. The particles in colloidal silver are extremely small; they are about 100nm in size, and cannot be seen by our naked eyes.
Types of Colloidal Silver Products
Ionic Silver Solutions – these solutions are clear like water, and some have a slight yellow tint. In ionic silver solutions, 90% is in the form of ionic silver, while 10% is silver particles. These may also be described as “dissolved silver.”
Silver Protein (a/k/a Mild Silver Protein) – these products are the second most common type of colloidal silver that is available on the market. This product normally has large silver particles. Amongst the three types of colloidal silver, silver protein has the lowest particle surface area, making silver inaccessible for safe human intake.
True Colloidal Silver – this is the least common type of colloidal silver that is available in the market due to its high cost of production, or we can say rare to find. It has the majority of the silver content, and it’s in the form of silver particles.

Colloidal silver in the form of gel or cream – commonly use and apply to skin infections to heal and treat burns and fight wound infections by applying the gel in a bandage and wound dressings. It is also used to cure fungal infections to humans.
Colloidal silver in a solution – the most common form, and according to researchers, when colloidal silver is taken orally, it brings substantial antibacterial effects, and some people claim can heal other illnesses as well.

There are some studies that state colloidal silver has no guarantee to cure illnesses and could cause some side effects.
Argyria - causes a person’s skin or eyes to turn a permanent silver-blue tone or bluish-gray leaving a permanent discoloration of the skin. The first one to be affected is the gums and followed by skin, eyes, nails, and deeper tissue layers.
It reduced the ability to absorb medications like antibiotics and thyroxin.
Headache and fatigue are also symptoms.
